How Much for One Youri?

Published an article on USSoccerplayers.com whose basic theme was that the league made a mistake in signing Youri Djorkaeff to play for the Metros.

One of the reasons that I thought it was a mistake was that I imagined the player would be paid a relatively high contract figure for MLS, and that this was a waste of moeny which could have been used for younger players.

The buzz on the BigSoccer forum was that Djorkaeff would be making "far less than $180,000", but it turns out that, at least on an article by Ridge Mahoney of Soccer America, Djorkaeff is in fact on a contract for $180,000, plus bonuses.

For a 37 year-old player?

Wasted money...
